Ingrid has been an important part of Sweden’s mod and soul scene for many years. She is one of the three founders of the Stubborn Heart Soul Club and runs the club night One In A Million 60s Lounge. In addition to DJing, she plays the saxophone, leads the soul band The Lavettes, and is a member of the soul orchestra Funky Friends.

Behind the decks, Ingrid brings a carefully selected mix of 60s soul and rhythm & blues – music that speaks to both the heart and the dance floor.

Leo Ernst (Deeper Shade, Munich got Soul, Magic Potion, Soulfood, Shoot your Cuffs, Going all the Way) – Munich

Leo… loves Soul (R&B, 6T’s, Northern and some 7T’s & Modern Soul), as well as scene related sounds like Beat, Garage Punk, Ska and Powerpop. He has enjoyed traveling through the mod and soul scene since 1989. For Leo, music – especially soulful music – goes from the ears via the heart straight to the feet – he is a passionate dancer – and more of a DJ than a collector. As a DJ he started with a little regular Mod & Soul club night through various local Bavarian and Austrian events and Allnighters to the Deeper Shade night at the Atomic Café in Munich as one of the resident DJs, as well as at the Target Club, the Soulfood Allnighter, the Magic Potion Night, the Black Cat Soul Club, Munich got Soul Allnighters, the Shoot Your Cuffs Mod Allnighters and the Going all the Way 6T’s Weekender. Guest appearances at Beat the Clock in Cologne, Summer Safari/Soulsurgery in Leipzig, Hamburg Soul Weekender, Two Men from L.i.n.z., S.O.S in Vienna, O-Wow in Linz, Ballroom Bash Cologne, Beat Explosion Berlin, Absolute Beginners Rimini, Wake up Club and some more.

It’s an honor for him to play some of his favorite records for a cool crowd like this and to party and dance with you all night long!

Curtis Lee – Is She In Your Town

I started collecting records more than 30 years ago and from then on never really stopped. Over the years my interests went through phases and shifted from one musical style to the other. For more than 25 years Soul was always there, sometimes on the fringes, sometimes with more focus. Although I had done some DJing with friends in the early 2000s in my local city of Bonn this wasn’t on my radar for decades until I teamed up with Cool Jerk in 2021. We’ve since then held regular nights in Bonn with an exclusive focus on Northern Soul and R’n’B on original vinyl. Soul had started to become my main passion some years before and I’m now in my tenth year of this wonderful and insane hobby.

I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to spin some records in the beautiful city of Berlin at this top weekender. Some of my all-time faves will accompany me on this journey:

Tony Clarke – (They Call Me) A Wrong Man
Mary Love – You Turned My Bitter Into Sweet
Joe Matthews – She’s My Beauty Queen
Barbara Lynn – I Don’t Want A Playboy
Lorraine Chandler – I Can’t Change

Yann is a well known face on the European rare soul scene. He has played his rare soul 45’s at many of the best Northern Soul clubs, including London’s legendary 100 Club all-nighter, Paris, Hamburg, Barcelona, Valencia, Stockholm, Frankfurt and Madrid.
Yann’s devotion to black music started as a young Mod in his home country of France in the late 80s and continued when he moved to London in the mid 90s.
He soon became a serious rare soul collector and DJ and has a collection to die for.
Yann is one of the three co-promoters at the infamous VaVaVoom London soul club – a club of the highest order.

Yann’s current spins:

Syndicate Of Sounds Inc – Make Believe You Love Me

My Soul journey started in 1975 at a local disco when the DJ played a bunch of tunes that I’d never heard before and 6 guys jumped out of the shadows and started dancing like I’d never seen before, that was me hooked. Scotland had a thriving soul scene at that time, and still does, I was attending various local venues and venturing south on trips to the Casino and Mecca. I missed out on newer venues during the 80t’s due to marriage and babies, then got back into it seriously in 90s.
It was then that me and a few friends thought that the local scene had stagnated with too many “oldies” nights and we started the Dundee Soul Club in 2001. The ethos of the club has remained the same as we approach 25years, keep the sounds fresh and progressive whilst still respecting the classics in our sets. In recent years I’ve been honoured to play Vienna, Prague, Hamburg events and now really looking forward to the Breakaway Berlin Weekender.

My current top spins include:

Billy Byrd – Lost In The crowd
Wally Coco – Message To society
Frankie & Damons – Man From Soul
Ricky Allen – Cut You loose
Boco – Running The Mardi-Gras

In 1988, little Michael Wink stepped up to the turntables. More than three decades ago, he founded the famed and notorious Blow Up Club, which toured countless venues across North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond – lighting up legendary spots like The Atomic Café in Munich, Molotow in Hamburg and Roter Salon in Berlin, always sparking excitement.
In addition to various Sixties nighters and weekenders in the Rhine-Ruhr area, he has been organizing The Two Men From L.I.N.Z. Weekender near Bonn since 1992, where the European “in-crowd” gathers every year over the Pentecost weekend.
With bookings from all over Germany and across Europe, Michael Wink has become one of the continent’s most beloved Soul and Mod DJ thanks to his outstanding taste in music and DJ performances delivered with passion, humor and energy.

Reggaefloor

My great passion is Jamaican dance music of the 60s and 70s. But I was also fascinated by soul, RnB and other genres since I was a teenager. Also since then I have been traveling all over Europe to see my favorite bands and musicians live. As a schoolgirl, I bought my first singles with my pocket money. I have been DJing at events and weekenders in Germany and Europe for over 20 years. Also as a organizer at clubs like the Monkey Cave or One Room Paradise. Get on the dancefloor… I’m looking forward to seeing you.

Some of my Jamaican music:

The Silvertones – Keep On Going
Derrick and Patsy – I’m In A Jam
Laurel and Owen – She’s Gone To Napoli
Phyllis Dillon – Don’t Stay Away
Jackie Opel – Go Whey
Linval Spencer – I Can’t Go On…

The founder of Downtown Soulville back in 2005, Mario, was already our guest for several times in ’19, ’22 and ’24.
His record collection is wide-ranging, including a lot of Northern Soul as well as Oi, Punk, Ska, Reggae and Rocksteady.
He has performed at This Is Northern Soul, The Soul Seven and For Dancers Only in Hamburg, Frankfurt Soul Weekeender, different events in Leipzig and Dresden and in Berlin at the Hip City Soul Club, ReggaeXplosion, Roter Salon, Böllerama and at the It’s Soul Time Allnighter at Böhmisches Dorf.
